Domestic Violence Accountability Programs

A Coalition of Domestic Violence Accountability Program (DVAP) providers offer certified accountability programming across the state to meet a range of intervention and accountability needs for people who cause harm in intimate partner relationships. Participants may be court ordered into programming, referred into programming by the Department of Children and Families, or may self-refer into programming. The Council is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards for Domestic Violence Accountability Programs and developing a process for certifying that programs are complying with those Standards.

The Domestic Violence Accountability Committee (DVAC) is responsible for developing recommendations to the Council related to the certification of DVAPs, establishing and maintaining the Vermont DVAP Values-Based Standards, and distributing information about certified programs.
